Lifesaving & Leadership Programs

Canadian Swim Patrol
       
For Youth ages 8 to 15 years old and have completed YMCA Star 2. This is a high energy, fun filled program that develops the basic strokes, endurance, fitness training, lifesaving techniques and first aid skills. There are three levels in this program, Rookie, Ranger, and Star.

Bronze Star
Youth ages 10 and up may enroll in this program. A good pre-requisite to Bronze Medallion. Great for children who have taken Canadian Swim Patrol or Junior Lifeguards. More Challenging and more advanced lifesaving and first aid skills are taught.

Bronze Medallion
For Teens Aged 13 and up.
Water Rescue Techniques including judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness are taught in this
pre-requisite for Bronze Cross.

Bronze Cross
For Teens ages 14 and up.
Components of lifesaving and lifeguarding are taught. This program is a pre-requisite for all advanced programs in lifesaving, lifeguarding, and leadership.

National Lifeguard (NLS) - Pool Option
For those aged 16+.
Teaches the skills and techniques that are required to become a lifeguard.
Requires prior completion of Bronze Cross

YMCA Swimming Instructor
For ages 16+ and have a current Bronze Cross certification.
Become a Certified YMCA Swimming Instructor!
Learn the proper techniques and skills required to teach swimming lesson to infants, children, teens, and adults.
