Everyone needs access to a healthy lifestyle, regardless of economic circumstances. Youth need safe spaces to socialize and gain leadership skills. Adults need to stay active physically, mentally and socially. People at all ages and stages thrive when they are connected to a community and for many people, that community is the Y!

By giving to the YMCA of Cumberland annual campaign, your donation will support our mission to create opportunities for better health and well-being for people of all ages.
​
You may to choose to direct to your donation to a Y program or Area of Greatest Need. All donations $10 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Ways to donate:
Click here for our online donation form. YMCA members can donate via the online member portal, here: Member Portal , stop by the YMCA front desk to make an in-person gift or send a cheque by mail, to: PO Box 552, Amherst, NS B4H4A1.

Donating securities & mutual funds:
A donation of securities or mutual fund shares is an efficient way to give charitably and capital gains tax does not apply, allowing you to give more and avoid paying capital gains taxes. Corporate & Event Sponsorship
The YMCA of Cumberland hosts fundraising events where revenue support the work of the annual campaign. Events include:

-The Trider's Trail Run
-YMCA Peace Week
-YMCA Healthy Kids Day

3rd Party Fundraising
Is your organization interested in hosting a fundraiser or event, where proceeds support the YMCA of Cumberland? This is a great way to engage employees, while support a community organization. These fundraising initiatives could include; payroll deduction programs, casual day, staff raffles, BBQs/Bake Sales, social committee funding, etc.

Sustaining the YMCA of Cumberland
As the YMCA strives to offer safe, inviting and accessible spaces we plan for capital projects or purchases to ensure the continued access and integrity of our YMCA. Donors could choose to support these projects for a current need or future project.

You can leave a legacy and help the YMCA of Cumberland achieve our long-term goals.

Bequests:
Consider leaving a bequest to the YMCA of Cumberland in your will. An official receipt for income tax purposes will be sent to your estate when the bequest is received. Most lawyers require the charity name and charitable registration number for your will: YMCA Association of Cumberland - Charitable Registration Number: 119307007RR0001

If you have left a gift in your will, please let us know so we can include you in our Heritage Club.
