Previously, we had announced that our YMCA is planning to resume operations on April 6, 2020. Today, we wanted to share an update on what’s happening at the Y.
YMCA Child Care and Afterschool Programs:
As a directive of the Nova Scotia Government, our licensed Child Care will not be operating until further notice. All parents/guardians will be notified of any changes as soon as there is an update. Parents: we have created a Facebook group to stay connected during this time, visit us here: https://bit.ly/33UV06m
Health, Fitness & Aquatics:
All health, fitness and aquatics programming will be paused until further notice. The YMCA of Cumberland is committed to serving our community in spirit, mind and body and are pleased to offer virtual programming at no cost. There’s something for everyone! Visit us on Facebook or our YouTube Channel to learn more and get moving! Memberships will remain on hold – thank you to those members who chose to donate their members fees at this time!
As a priority service, the Homelessness Prevention and Outreach Program will continue to serve our community. Due to no facility access, those requiring services are asked to contact 902-669-0005 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The community kitchen will be paused during this time as the building will be closed. The YMCA, in collaboration with community partners, are offering food boxes to those in need. More information and requests can be found here: https://bit.ly/2Jn0JZ4
The YMCA of Cumberland is a charity that relies on revenue from membership, childcare and programs to operate our facilities and run programs that support our community. We also rely on charitable donations to help us meet our goal of building healthy communities – where everyone belongs. By donating today, your gift will provide funds at a time of uncertainty. And, although our building is closed we’re still operating our community based programming such as our Homelessness Prevention program and Community Outreach Program and Food Box program for those effected by COVID19.
